Speednation game guide · PC setup
MOZA includes BeamNG.drive in the compatible-game list on its R5 Pro page. Start by checking the R5 Pro hardware in MOZA Pit House, then work through the game’s steering, pedal and force-feedback controls. Leave optional dashboard telemetry until those driving inputs work.

01Connect the R5 Pro and check Pit House
Use the R5 Pro manual for mounting, the ES Lite quick release and SRP Lite2 pedal wiring. Connect the base’s USB and power cables as shown, then obtain Pit House from MOZA’s download centre. BeamNG recommends current manufacturer drivers and firmware.
- Secure the hardware. Follow the manual’s base/clamp mounting instructions and make sure the quick release locks. Assemble the pedals and route their leads to the labelled connections.
- Check the pedals in Pit House. Watch the readings while pressing and releasing throttle and brake. The Pro manual describes adjusting start point, endpoint and travel.
- Resolve a missing input first. If the pedals remain grey or unresponsive, follow the manual’s reconnect/restart sequence before changing game bindings.

For a broader hardware and calibration checklist, read our wheel setup and calibration guide.
We recommend recording your Pit House and firmware versions before tuning. That gives you a useful reference when returning to the setup after an update.
02Bind steering, throttle and brake
BeamNG’s PC wheel guide describes manual assignments for devices without a ready-made configuration. Use that process to check the axes and build your button map.
Inspect input in Options → Controls → Hardware. For missing assignments, go to Options → Controls → Bindings → Vehicle. Use one Steering axis and separate Throttle and Brake assignments. Keep the steering-angle value matched between Pit House and the game.
Move one control at a time. Check steering direction and pedal release/full-travel readings, then assign the ES Lite buttons you want to use. Keep a note of those assignments so you can distinguish a missing button map from a missing hardware input.
03Tune force feedback with a repeatable drive
BeamNG puts force-feedback settings under the steering binding. Its documented starting procedure uses an official rear-wheel-drive car, a standard setup and disabled mods.
- Begin with high Smoothing. Adjust Strength while driving until the effort suits you; the developer says to ignore parked forces.
- Reduce Smoothing gradually. Increase it again if uncomfortable rattling or vibration appears.
- Review low-speed behaviour. Reduce strength at low speeds is intended to reduce parked oscillation.
Our recommendation is to keep the car and route consistent and record one adjustment at a time. Compare the result with your previous setting before changing another control. No fixed numeric “best R5 Pro” preset is supplied here.
04Work through the specific symptom
These checks come from BeamNG’s input and FFB troubleshooting guide:
Swipe or scroll sideways to read the table.
| Symptom | Check |
|---|---|
| Steering only goes one way | Remove wheel assignments under Steer left/Steer right and use one Steering axis. |
| Throttle and brake interfere | For separate pedal axes, remove a conflicting combined throttle/brake assignment. |
| Steering is reversed | Review Inverted Axis in the steering binding, then apply the change. |
| Direct-drive FFB is absent or briefly works | First enable and configure FFB. BeamNG then suggests trying Update Type: Full. |
If the device appears in Pit House but not the game’s Hardware screen, BeamNG identifies Steam Input as a possible detection interference. Check that possibility using the linked guidance.
05Check telemetry separately
MOZA’s BeamNG guide reports dashboard telemetry support but no LED tachometer telemetry. Inactive rev lights alone therefore do not establish a steering or pedal fault.
For dashboard telemetry, MOZA documents Options → Advanced → Protocols, IP 127.0.0.1 and port 4444. Treat that as a separate optional integration step. Check your dashboard’s documentation for its supported fields.
06Quick questions
Can I simply copy an original-R5 setup?
Use the R5 Pro manual for this bundle’s hardware. For BeamNG, check the axes and ES Lite button assignments using the process above, then save your checked settings as a separate profile.
Does the included pedal set have a clutch?
The current Speednation R5 Pro listing supplies SRP Lite2 throttle and brake pedals. A clutch is not included.
07Sources and scope
MOZA’s R5 Pro compatible-game page, Pro manual and the linked developer instructions were checked on 19 October 2026. Menu labels follow those documents. This is a documentation-based setup guide; no hands-on game test or performance result is claimed.
