Take the Pilot Seat in WARDOGS with MOZA and Thrustmaster

Calling all WARDOGS pilots. If helicopter flying is your favourite part of the game, it might be time to give your desk a cockpit upgrade.

WARDOGS brings infantry, vehicles and teamwork together on a large battlefield. Flying gives you a different way to contribute: transporting your squad, delivering supplies and getting teammates where they need to be.

At Speednation, our MOZA and Thrustmaster flight range gives Kiwi PC players options for building a dedicated flying setup, from a joystick and throttle to a more complete cockpit.

Bring your helicopter controls to life

WARDOGS supports dedicated flight controls for helicopter gameplay. A HOTAS setup — short for Hands On Throttle And Stick — puts the main flight inputs under your hands.

A joystick handles pitch and roll, a throttle can be mapped to collective-style control, and a twist axis or rudder pedals can handle yaw, depending on your hardware and the controls available in the game.

It is a more hands-on way to play, whether you are practising a hover or bringing your squad in for a landing.

Thrustmaster: start with a stick and throttle

The Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS HOTAS combines the T.16000M joystick with the TWCS throttle. It gives you two separate controls without needing to build a full flight cockpit.

If you want pedals as well, the T.16000M FCS Flight Pack adds TFRP rudder pedals to that combination. The joystick also has a twist axis, giving you another option for yaw control.

Thrustmaster has published its own WARDOGS helicopter guide featuring the T.16000M range, making it a useful starting point when planning your setup.

MOZA: build your flight setup your way

MOZA offers separate flight bases, grips, throttles and rudder pedals, so you can choose the parts around your desk or rig.

The MOZA MH16 Flightstick is an aluminium flight grip with multiple programmable inputs. It requires a compatible flight base, so remember to include one when planning your setup.

For a base and stick together, the MOZA AB6 Flight Simulator pairs the AB6 base with the MHG flightstick.

The MOZA MTP Throttle adds a separate physical throttle to your controls. You can also explore our MOZA Flight Bundle to put together your preferred combination.

For WARDOGS, choose the controls you need for helicopter flying and check the mappings for your specific devices.

Get set up before taking off

Update your hardware software and firmware, check that your PC detects each device, then configure the available flight controls in WARDOGS. Test your inputs and sensitivity before heading into a busy match.

Device support and button mappings can vary with the game version. Force-feedback effects and specialist panels depend on separate game support, so check those features before choosing hardware specifically for them.

Our tip: turn off flight assists

We recommend turning all flight assists off. We know it’s harder at first, but it’s worth sticking with. You get more freedom of movement and more direct control over the helicopter, without the assists limiting your inputs.
